Grandma Natalie's Heartwarming Cookies: A Recipe to Cherish

Grandma Natalie's Heartwarming Cookies: A Recipe to Cherish

Let me share a heartwarming family recipe with you today – my beloved Grandma Natalie's cookies. These cookies hold a special place in my heart as they were a staple in my grandma's kitchen. The sweet aroma of these treats filled her home with love and warmth.

Grandma Natalie's Cookies have become a tradition for us, making appearances at family gatherings and celebrations. I find myself nibbling on them constantly, which always leads my partner to insist that we bake them in large quantities.

Please note that the measurements in the recipe yield large cookies, about 10 cm in diameter. You can also make smaller cookies if you prefer, which will require less baking time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (350 grams) of flour
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 200 grams of butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup (100 grams) of sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine all the ingredients in a mixer using a paddle attachment, mixing only until the dough comes together (avoid overmixing).

  2. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions, place them on the baking sheet with some space between them, and flatten each cookie to a thickness of about 1/2 cm (0.2 inches). Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Remove and let them cool. Store in an airtight container outside the refrigerator.

Enjoy these delightful cookies that carry the love and traditions of my dear Grandma Natalie. Baking them always brings a touch of nostalgia and a sense of home. Happy baking!
