Ingredients:

  • 3½ cups of bread flour (500g)
  • 1 tablespoon of active dry yeast or 25g of fresh yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt (6g)
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar (15g)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 cup of lukewarm water (240ml)

Instructions:

  1. Mixing the Dough:

    • In a mixer bowl with a dough hook, gently mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Gradually add the water and knead at medium speed for about 10 minutes. Then slowly add the olive oil until you achieve a soft and smooth dough.
  2. First Rise:

    • Lightly oil the dough all around and place it in a bowl. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave it to rise for about an hour.
  3. Shaping and Second Rise:

    • Transfer the dough to a work surface and divide it into 2 equal parts, each weighing about 400-450 grams. Form each part into a ball, making sure to release any trapped air. Place them spaced apart on a baking tray, cover, and allow them to rise for about half an hour.
  4. Baking:

    • Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for about 30 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown. Cool before serving.
